About
Brooklyn born, Queens raised. Trying to make the world my home, one trip at a time.
My love of words and art started with Children’s books. As a kid I was relentless about my mom reading the name of the author AND the illustrator during bedtime reading. I was fascinated by how those creators worked so perfectly together to create images and words that told compelling stories. At about age 5 I firmly declared that I would be an author/illustrator. Over a quarter century later I’m actively working on making that happen (stay tuned for book details!).
Beyond my childhood goals coming to fruition, so much of my work (writing, drawing, recipe development, photography) is informed by my upbringing as a first generation, U.S. born Black woman in a Jamaican immigrant household. My love of colors, stories and food come from my life navigating multiple worlds and identities.
